Last week I ran across a description of a pfgm that would allow you to send a time-bombed email, in which it would 'disappear' from someone's inbox.
Of course I did not save the link and can't find it now.
Just curious about it, sounds impressive. Can it be done?

You might be able to get it to self-delete from some extremely buggy email program(s) *cough*Outlook Express*cough* but in general, no. Once it hits my mail server, it's there until I delete it.

Some e-mail programs allow for a header that is an "Expiration" date, but it's not considered standard and easily overridden.

Like those silly "Recall" messages that Outlook uses to yank a message someone didn't want to send. I never allow auto-recall to function. It's far more fun to read whatever the idiot recalls.

Have seen announcements pulled back from Execs, notices that people have been fired before they've been notified, complaints from customers who later realized they were using the software wrong and not following instructions, etc. All quite a hoot.
