Anyone gone to one of his concerts? Is he any good? He is coming to my town at the end of the month and I have a chance to hear him but I know nothing about his music.

I know him from the old folkie days when he was a national recording artist.

Yeah. He's good. :D

I just purchased tickets to his January performance in the Florida Theater! They came in the mail last week. This will be the 6th time I seen him live. I never miss his show when he comes to town. I've been a huge fan for 3 1/2 decades now!

Ditto. My first time watching Leo was the fall of 1971 and I've been a fan every since.

Saw him years ago in Bozeman - not my genre but still an amazing player and worth the price of admission. Kind of funny too.

Scott my officemate I told you about who is counsel and on the board of the Philadephia Folk Festival says he is a FANTASTIC ARTIST an old time picker and just awesome.

Kind of funny too.

Indeed! He has a very dry sense of humor, but he knows how to make an audience laugh!

And Scott, his playing style has become much less aggressive over the years due to the severe tendonitis he had years ago. In fact, some songs he's had to drop completely. But yeah, IMO he's well worth the price.

I don't know if you trust my taste in music, but I saw him at the Kimo Theater in Albuquerque back in May (I think May...might have been June). It was an amazing show. Good date show.

He is coming to Crystal Lake if you are interested. He will be at the Raue Center, if you like I can probably tell Karen to get you a ticket.

If you're inviting me to tag along, sure! Pick up an extra ticket.

I am. I'll get a ticket for you for the 26th of September

Karen is going to order the tickets today. I thought the show was in Crystal Lake at the Raue but she told me last night it is in Woodstock at the Opera house. So it is 10 miles further west.

Cool. I should ask my buddy. Are the seats reserved?

When I tell you what he does on the side you'll be amazed.

Now I gotta bring you two to Jazz Showcase.

Yep reserved seats. You want me to tell K to get a 4th?

Just 3. He says it's too far to Woodstock.

THANKS!

Buuuutttt, mebbe we should arrange a fly-in to Lansing, Schaumburg or PWK and make a caravan trip to Jazz Showcase. 'Course that means late night flying or staying overnight.

I checked the schedule. Willie Pickens is my buddy but he's up pretty soon. His is pretty much the house band so they'll be back. Let's see who else they book in the next few months.

The best part is they're next to Duh Mare's condo.

Garrison Keillor told us how Leo got his start, and there's a lesson in there for the rest of us... everybody know where your guitars are? Better learn a chord or two before you go fly this weekend, just in case the worst happens on Monday!

He used to be excellent, I don't know if he still is.

Well, as usual, it was a fantastic performance! Very funny, very talented guitarist! I went with my two sons (both extraordinary guitarists themselves) and we had a wonderful time!

Merle is going to be in Dallas in March. Gotta go, even if "he cain't sang werth a **** no more." Any chance of working a MH set into the Gaston's songfest?
