I like finding interesting T-shirts.....

This one caught my eye for MBDiagMan (Doc) and his recent discussion of using dinosaur computer tech back in the day...

I looked the one that says if you aren't part of the solution you're part of the Precipitate...

Only 8 inches!!!

Don't knock it. It's far better than tripping and scattering two big boxes of punch cards down the hall next to the mainframe at 1 A.M. that has to be turned in for a final the next day. To this day I feel sorry for that guy. I turned the corner and he was sitting in the floor crying. It took several of us until sunrise to get it all sorted out. He passed.

I have a few of them and a disk drive to access them with too in storage somewhere.

Why are you keeping them?

Why are you keeping them?

Because it's the only way to convince people that there were actually disk drives at one point.

In the theatre at the college, the light board uses 3.5" 1.44mb disks to backup the show programs on. Over 50% of the students that first see the disk ask "what is that?" They've never seen or even heard of a FDD.
I find it interesting though that the computer science students don't have a clue what a sector editor is..and they call themselves computer experts...shame shame shame.
