I received my "statement of beneifts" from my health insurer covering a recent visit to my PCP for my workup prior to my 3rd class renewal. With our recent discussions about they health care system, I'd like to take the chance to learn more about what I am seeing in this statement.

Is there a website that allows me to enter the codes from my statement and see what that code represents? I'd like to compare what really occurred with what the code site says I am being billed for.

Google cpt code lookup . Should get you go the AMA website. you have to accept their eula. Enter your location on the dropdown menu. The prices are medicare allowables and may be less or more than what your insurance paid.

Also, you know my email address takes me no time to decrypt them.

Also if any of your codes are really old, be aware that the coding system is regularly changed. The Medicare world is "enjoying" their preparations for the upcoming switch to ICD-10! :)
