I rented a game from redbox today.

The box contained a color copy of the face of the disk and nothing else.

Some low life, thieving, degenerate GAMER did this to steal the game.

I have my refund and all, but come on. This is ludicrous.

Can't kids just rip copies of the game instead of stealing the original?

I've always wondered how that worked. Who regulates it to check whether the person returned the correct thing? Obviously nobody. It's not like the old days at Blockbuster where the clerk checks the rental item before they clear your account.

Sad that people have to do stuff like this.

They must have a cc number from the renter previous to you, wouldn't they just charge that account? Unless it's done with a skimmed card, I guess.

Probably why they have a limit on rentals per day, too.

Their business model is sure getting squeezed by the Internet. Wonder how much longer they'll last?

I'll admit we enjoy using the boxes to toss a couple of cheap movies in the fifth wheel for "questionable weather" camping trips. It's kinda cheating if the weather doesn't cooperate to be outside as much as we wanted to. Couple of bucks and some popcorn and we're all set.

Came in handy waiting for a fuel pump to be replaced on the diesel the year we broke down on the way to OSH, too. Can ride to WalMart for a couple of things for the fridge and a few RedBox movies and we were entertained while we waited a couple of days.

I think we even dropped them off in a RedBox in a different state, as I recall. I was wondering if the machine would care, but it didn't seem to. Must be interesting to see where the discs travel to, sometimes, in their database.

When you grow up and quit playing with kids games, you won't have these problems.:fingerwag::idea:
