They make no claim of modernity nor comfort etc - but they have ‘novel’, maybe even ‘quirky’ nailed pretty good.
The one in town here gets plenty of attention.
Injected 4 stroke 30hp, albeit Chinese engine.

Any other non mass-produced cycles out there?

Oof.

You had to ask. A guy I used to work with built this out of spare parts. He added the headlight after he started driving it to work when it was still dark.

I have more pix from other angles. The more you look at it, the more you can appreciate his genius.

Look up Combat Motors. They made two models, the Wraith and the Hellcat. They are technically production bikes, but they are mostly handmade.

So for about $180K, you can get one of the most overpriced, butt-ugly, uncomfortable, and probably under performing V twin available.

But, “military grade aluminum”!

I don’t exactly understand what you’re looking for. Are you just looking for something quirky that nobody else in town has? There are a lot of those…

There have been homologation bikes manufactured by the big companies that were produced in smaller numbers than the Janus has been. To me, the Janus is just a low volume production bike in the same sense that factory built aircraft are.

Additionally, the Harley/Chopper industry is full of custom bike builders that are building one of one bikes.

That chain is poised to maim and dismember…

I know a guy, in his late 70’s who spring of 2024 put a set of “training wheels” trike conversion on his heavy cruiser at his kids insistence that he was too old to ride it any more. Within the first week he laid it down and while he was recovering his wife sold it. So…. he is a very talented guy and has a good work shop of tools.. he showed me some pictures the other day. He built a tube frame trike. 455 Buick engine, three speed automatic, out put universal jointed to a rigid mounted ford 9” rear end that’s been narrowed significantly, HUGE Mickey thompson street slicks, girder springer front end (his own, not bought). I asked him when he thought it would be done… “I’ve been riding it since April, I just have to be careful the wife and kids don’t find out about it” quietest, most soft spoken guy I’ve ever met, but his eyes smiled when he said “IT’S DAMN FAST!”
