We intentionally created conditions in which the Li-ON battery pack would explode inside a generic portable.

I've not heard anything for several months. I know the FAA considered banning laptops with Lion batteries.

I know this issue is being treated very seriously in the industry. We don't want fires in airplanes (heck, we ride in them too) and we don't want laptops banned in airplanes (can you imagine trying to work on the road in today's environment without one?).
