acquaintance did an Avast scan and found a pile of these, what we need to know is,

What, if anything needs to be done?

I did a quick search and it seems they might not be viruses?
And it is not always best to try to delete them, or they may not be deletable?
They could be 'viruses' that expand rapidly to consume and shut down your harddrive......or they could be just welcome files that you need which have a large decompression associated with them?

I put him onto Avast so its my fault now....and you all put me on to Avast so I blame you! :D

They're backup and temporary files so there should be no harm in deleting them.

What do you make of the Business Logic line?
Could they be all from one program?
tks

Business Logic UWC = Ultra Win Cleaner. That sounds like spyware to me--did you purchase and/or install a Ultra Win Cleaner? Perhaps its legit software..perhaps not. If you haven't heard of it then its probably spyware of some sort.

Looks like "freeware" or "shareware". Can't tell from internet postings whether it's malware or not.
