Report of a completely dead dryer - no heat, no turn, no noise, no smoke, no clicking, nada.....in any of the available modes.

Breaker not tripped and was cycled anyway. Sears Kenmore.

Have not had time time to investigate yet, will have vom in hand by noon.

Where would you start?
Following inspection for loose wires and burning, I plan to ensure power to the entry junction box on the back of the unit. But then....

Would you start bypassing the safety switches (door, thermal)
or troubleshoot the 'on' switch, or the timer?

Good chance its the door switch (if it is an older one). Bypass that and see if it will run. Those new energy efficient ones have a fuse, somewhere. I had a service guy replace the fuse in my dryer shortly after purchase because the exhaust hose was kinked and caused the fuse to blow

Thermal fuse wins; bypassed and it starts right up.
Found spare on 'parts dryer'; fully operational once again
thanks
