Costco. Great prices. Extended warranty and no hassle returns.

Get an HP or Lenovo if you must have Windows.

I've purchased a lot of computer equipment over the years from Tiger Direct. But the last laptop we purchased was at a local electronics retail outfit.
 
TigerDirect or NewEgg. I have bought several refurbs from TigerDirect and been totally satisfied. I would not have guessed that they were not brand-new if I hadn't known. Saved a bundle.
 
I've purchased several items from NewEgg and have been pleased with price, speed of shipping, and service.
 
I have traded with TigerDirect many times, like their service.

Only wrinkle is, now that they have retail stores in Texas, I presume that they will charge sales tax.

NewEgg is good.

One other thing about Tiger Direct: avoid going into their retail stores if there is a supernatural "artifact" anywhere about - the laptop you buy might kill you. (A store of theirs was used prominently in a "Warehouse 13" episode.)
