Oh my, I had a 72 Eldo convertible, you didn't drive that car down the highway, you kinda guided it as it floated, above 70mph it was downright scary lol. My buddy bought it off of me and we ended up modifying a set of 2" aftermarket sway bars for a van to fit and coil over gas shocksthat made it into a driveable car. It was fun after that.

Henning; in the same auction, there was a Kaiser Jeep that I could easily picture you driving. Fits the mystique of your "Dirk Pitt" lifestyle perfectly!

Nice, but it doesn't have A/C or a convertible top. If you come across a deal on a Jeepster though, I'd love to have another one of those, that was an all time favorite driver. My favorite though was my 65 Volvo P-1800, that car was too cool for school. I showed up at a friends with it and she said "It's perfect for you, it even looks like a speed boat!" I've had 2, the first got turned into a Fuel Altered and the second now serves as a goat toy on my ex's (and my still for that matter) ranch. I was going to restore it until one day my horse decided to sit on it. FMD, I'd never seen a horse sit on anything before... Oh well, I got it for $1000 and drove it 3 years without putting a dime in it.

You're right. That is a nice looking ride!

I had one at 18 and blew up the engine and rear end at the same time (well, the rear went and that got the engine lunched, how the tranny survived is still a mystery) and I decided to make a Fuel Altered out of it since it was the only way I could afford to play with Nitro. Blown 392 hemi in with a Lenco and a 9" makes it a hell of a ride....;)

Sheezus! That makes this bumper sticker totally necessary!

That was on the dash of my Camaro which was Reher and Morrison's 78 Pro Stock car I got third hand and turned into a street car. The P1800 was a single seat chassis like a funny car when completed still using the steel body welded together to flip up.

I only need one needy Cadillac at a time, thankee very much. As it is, I need to install two (2) fuel pumps to make mine drivable again, anyway.

Is Henning my long lost brother? I desire a Jeepster very much. If they built it today, I sincerely believe that they would sell all they could build.

I'll keep a lookout at the major auctions I frequent. If a Jeepster comes along, I'll be in contact with you both.

I saw a Jeepster a few weeks ago, the guy driving it had had it for many years. If someone trird to build it as a production car today, it would probably weight in a 3 tons, cost $40K and have eight cup holders.

The original Jeepster weighed in at around 3 tons lol, they didn't spare the steel back then. I don't complain about cup holders either. It would make a great model for Chrysler to do as another 'retro' car since they started the trend with the Prowler.

Henning, I think you are. Confusing the Jeepster with the Wagoneer. The Jeepster weighs in around 2500 lb.

But, if you want a like-new Wagoneer, see these guys:

No, the Jeepster I know, I was kinda kidding, never weighed the thing but the steel on it was pretty thick, didn't even warp where I welded 12ga steel over the rust holes. I wouldn't own a Wagoneer for nuttin, much rather have a Suburban.
