Then you use your backup Garmin yoke mounted portable GPS...preferably with xm weather 396 or higher...the 796 with svt is really nice.

Then buy one...it has saved more than one friend...Don't fly IFR without one or a Back-up ADI with it's own battery. If you go x-c you need in flight weather.

I've probably got more time tracking NDB needles than many here have TT.

Ident the NDB turn to the heading, note the number, draw the line, Ident the second NDB, turn to the heading, note the number, draw the line, see your position, correct your heading to the destination.

Two ADFs makes it pretty easy.
