Today was most interesting! I left the house only for brief periods, taking breaks from working in the studio -- so many photographs taken during the past summer. Yesterday I was invited to visit a lady who lives about three miles from my house. "Come around 4:00," I was told. So today I did. I'd met her many times during the last 37 years, but to be invited to her home pretty well off the common path? A very special person, 97 years old and still cranking out memorable pieces to be seen and valued throughout the world. When the visit was concluding she said, "Reach down there and get one of those cards; not that one, the one with the animals on it. That's it; give it to me."
Handwritten on the inside of the card, a collector's item for sure: "For Jerry -- May all be merry and bright
Dahlov Ipcar"

Art runs in the family. Dahlov's father was famed sculptor William Zorach. Her mother, brother, and sister in-law were also artists of repute. All but her parents had been long time customers at my camera store. Amazing lady! Your children may have some of her books.
