Get the Cloudahoy app for your iPad to track your flight. You will need to go to cloudahoy.com and create an account and then link the iPad to it.

I have used CloudAhoy, and it's pretty cool and the price is right (free). Although it's an iPhone app, it will work fine on your iPad. You do need the Google Earth plugin for the browser, and I've found it's pretty finicky about which browsers it will run on, but if it works, it's fantastic.
