I got a couple of amorous lizards living in the shrubs out my back door near the pool. I see them every day when I go out, they are sunning on the screen, or grabbing up some tasty bugs around the base of our bushes. One of them was looking a little puffy a few weeks ago. It ain't puffy anymore, and last nite I saw a few little tiny green skinky things with bug eyes. One of them made it under the door jamb seal, and I scooped him up with a piece of paper and led him back outside to the screen.

Lizards. What a life.

I have horny (horned) toads in my back yard. The other day I saw something about the size of my thumbnail moving. On closer look it was a tiny horny toad. All I can say is I need more of the toads to eat the ants.

There are blue tailed (color, not species) lizards in my garage. Hopefully they are keeping the ant population down as well. There was a snake in my garage a few weeks ago. I finally got him relocated but the lizard population seems to have diminished.

If you need some more, I have hundreds at my house, various varieties. I'll throw in a couple dozen frogs and half a dozen snakes to sweeten the deal. I have an outdoor sink on my patio and for whatever reason they love putting leaves in the drain and living there.

The little tree frogs like hanging out in the pool. Usually 6-12 in the pool at any time.

Sometimes for fun, I like to leave the back door lights on and count the frogs and lizards, typical night is ~100.

No, just a few country lizards is doing me fine. I just don't have the bug population to support that kind of infrastructure. We haven't had any decent rain since April, so very few frogs out.

When my kid moved into her house, I was checking out the sprinkler system in back. I stuck my finger in that lift hole, and pulled the cover off to see a nice size garter snake making home in there. I think it was a she, cuz my kid says there's some more little ones slithering around now. Before mowing she walks around with the shovel and scoops them back into the sprinkler cover hole.

I caught lizards in the act in my garden
