Postmarked ROYAL MAIL, POSTAGE PAID Par Avion.

Written on PRESBYTERIAN VILLAGE, 510 Brookside Drive, Little Rock, AR, through FIRST SECURITY BANK, PAYROLL ACCOUNT; and it looks to be very clean; no tricky fine print on the back re "signing and/or cashing." That bank does exist. The accompanying letter was from Payment Alliance International, Inc., of Louisville, KY; and that organization seems to exist in numerous parts of Louisville. However, at this late hour the 1-866-703-8485 recorded message wants to transfer me to another # which happens to be in the UK.

Clever: "Enclosed is a check of $3,519.50,being part of your prize. This amount will enable you to offset the statutory Non-British Resident tax payment of $1950.00. The tax is payable to your assigned British tax officer as stated below." Method of Payment: Western Union Money Transfer."

Yeah - right! Oh, this promotion was organized for all customers of Wal-Mart, Sears, Home Depot, Safeway and ASDA for the 3rd quarter, Q3, of the year 2011.

It's written in very good English; and I wonder how many million of said notices were distributed. And how many suckers will fall for the scam.

HR (Oh, the total guaranteed to me, in certified check, is $100,000.00).

:o))) I suppose somebody, somewhere, fell for the ruse.

HR

My buddy was sitting at home one day and the FedEx truck rolled up dropped off a next day air letter complete with cashiers check. His fiance had gotten caught up in some sort of scam. He had to stop her from heading to the bank and western union. He's not much of an internetter so he called me up wondering what was going on.

Oh, Jerry!

You simply *must* scurry right on down to Western Union, and send them the $1,950.00, from the proceeds of that check. Now!

Or what? James Bond shows up and drags you down by your ear?

I suspect that Jerry will get a few phone calls soon.

Wow. Those Brits are really ripping you off.

I only had to pay a 10% duty for my Nigerian friends estate... :rolleyes2:
