Do you have any idea how much energy is delivered by a 500lb cruise missile when it rams into an object at 80mph? That's not even including the fact that you're talking about a car that falls apart if you bump it into a post at 3mph or how fast the other car is going in either direction at the moment of impact. If he hits someone, he's extremely likely to kill them too..as well as whoever that person runs into while coming down from 70mph as an out of control 2000lb cruise missile.
I don't give a turd if the guy hits a bridge piling and suicides himself. I have no sympathy for him at all. I just don't want to be the innocent bystander that he delivers the equivalent of a stick of dynamite in your lap of energy into while he's committing suicide while I'm minding my own business not doing anything dangerous other than randomly being on the road with a self centered snot like that.
What he did is the equivalent of walking into a supermarket and start shooting in random directions. It's deliberate attempted murder regardless of the weapon whether it is a motorcycle or a gun or a car or a stick of dynamite.
I can't view the video at work, so have not watched the OP, but to this post, I can comment. When I was in the Navy, there was a crash right outside the base. A guy had been riding a friend's bike. That friend had rigged his bike up so that he could kill the lights. The rider was out hot-rodding, and police attempted a traffic stop. The rider fled, and turned off the lights on the bike (it was evening - around 9pm or so, and dark). I don't know the speeds he achieved, but I don't think I'll ever forget the picture in the paper. I had cut it out and put it on the inside of my locker door, as a reminder, everytime I grabbed my helmet.
He had come to an intersection at high speed, and the two high school boys in the car never knew he was coming, as they proceeded through their green light. He struck the passenger door of the car, pushing that door and the floor to the left with the motorcycle. The roof was pushed to the right with his body, which very quickly ran out of blood. The picture was from the driver side of the car, and you could see the roof pushed toward the driver side, in a V shape. His head-filled helmet stuck up from what was nearly exactly the center of the roof. Behind him, you could see just a hint of the tail end of the bike sticking up.
Both boys died at the scene. On their way home from some school function, if I remember right. The next day was a somber one on the Navy base, as one sailor perished killing two innocent teen boys, and another sailor was answering questions about his motorcycle.
Yes, indeed, the kinetic energy that can be contained by a motorcycle can definitely change more lives than just that of the rider.
