Multitasking FUN!

Gonna call BS on that one, staged.
I was thinking the same thing, even while mentally overburdened with driving, phoning, and reading at the same time, the perp could hardly have missed the car pacing him 3 feet away with a zoom lens pointed his way.

I know someone who admits to watching movies on their iphone while driving... The thought of them types of people being on the road scares the crap out of me.

He's overloaded. The car beside him is little more than maybe something to latch onto and run with. Him look out the side window and actively notice something is there? Ha! He would likely run into a huge brick wall right in front of him without noticing. The nutjob that broadsided me in 2001 never saw the stopped cars he was passing nor my jeep even moments before impact. He had glazed over eyes about 5 feet from impact at 50+mph. This guy is probably the same way.

The guy probably gets home safely because the vehicle driving next to him doesn't intentionally guide him into a bridge piling.

Guys, I hate to say it, but I think Frank's right:

I saw crap like this every day when I was driving a truck. Actually, the worst one was a guy who had a newspaper draped over his steering wheel, cell phone in his left hand, using his right hand to write on a legal pad in his lap. That, in Chicago traffic.

They are completely oblivious to their surroundings, with the exception of possibly "latching on" with their peripheral vision as Frank describes. When one "latches on" to you, you can watch them follow along as you speed up, slow down, drift right and left in the lane, etc.
