I just discovered a cool new feature of my Hotmail account. I get file storage on Onedrive. And with it, I can use the web version of Office (Word, Excel, etc) to do some editing. How cool is that. And it even works on the Ipad. F** dude, sweet.

The online help, and Google is failing me here. How do I do simple tasks like "save and exit" or "exit without saving?" I spent an hour playing with it and couldn't figure it out.

I've been working with sharepoint and office online as I am a tech reviewer for a publishing company that uses that for it's production. Word online is still a bit flakey. There's still a lot of documents we have that it just pukes on and tells you to open it on a local copy of word. Once you do that, you'd better OVERRIDE the save feature and save it locally as well as I've had the stupid thing just discard saves. It's not reliable.

The answer is that the online version DOES NOT work like the standalone version. It is continually saving your document. If you are making edits that you contemplate that you may not want to be saved back automatically, under FILE do a save as before anything else.

Well than that is total suckosity, but I guess I can't complain, the price is right. I suppose just having an anywhere accessible backup will be good enough for me then.
