Is that near sedona? And what kind of plane is that?
Gorgeous, though I hope to never look left out my window at terrain.

I understand not all people like being the highest peak in the area but I think if you keep proper distance it's okay. Take Colorado for example, you don't always fly above 14K when your there.
Yep, and if you don't have 02 you'll be going everywhere at 12,500 ft. and looking at terrain next to you and often above you. Eastern flatlanders don't get it, but it is normal in the Rockies.
I remember a guy talking about mountain flying in New Jersey a few years ago on here, and I asked what mountains would those be. I think he got insulted.![]()
Perhaps he got the state borders mixed up, because they are mountains on the north east.
I like to joke about the hills in the eastern US, but believe it or not, the most I've ever been thrown around in a small plane over rising terrain was flying over the Green Mountains in Western VT in the summer and I've flown the Rockies.
I never flown in VT but I can defiantly believe that.
The good thing about VT is even though the mountains are high in relation to the surrounding terrain they are only at 6K MSL, so you can easily climb over them in most airplanes.
