As Greg and I talked Sunday we remembered that Mountain Home has or at least had, airline service to Little Rock. The little toad airport manager already had hassled Tom for walking too close to the terminal (NOT anywhere near the yellow box.) or maybe just for looking at it.

Now they'll have the new TSA madness and the toad will have some more imaginary power.

We may not be able to get out of our planes unescorted.

The rest of the story: The airport is owned by the county and they want the FBO gone. That's why they put in cheaper self serve fuel.

The FBO has been really great to us. Buy fuel from them. Make the toad mad.
 
Flippin is a decent option as well -- I've bought fuel there before.

A fly-out from Gastons into Mountain Home all at the same time. Then everyone leave at the same time. All legal.

Oh, and make sure to park planes as far apart as possible, to make it very difficult for the escorts.
 
Mike, there is a whole soap opera thing going on at Mountain Home. I won't bore you about the details I learned during my extended stay there, but the FBO ain't without fault.
 
I love the harrass the escort idea. Imagine their freakout when they hear "Mountain Home Traffic, Cherokee xxx, number 8, downwind, Mountain Home, we'll need a quick turn."

Oh, when I said quick turn I didn't mean fuel, I meant soda!

I like the idea for ALL of these airports where escorts are required. :yes:
 
Just be glad Oshkosh doesn't have Scheduled Air Service anymore. Could you imagine the CF that airventure would be if the TSA required everyone in the AOA to be badged/escorted?!?!?!

We just had our security training for our TSA mandated badges. This whole prgram is so incredible half assed I get mad everytime I think about it. At least the airport ops guys are on our side and are trying to fight this as best as they can.
 
BPK's equipped for air-carrier ops, IF they ever get any.

Should not be an issue.
