Most Difficult Landing In The World

I think the airport's location was chosen by the engineering firm that built the airport: de Sade & Dumas.

Not sure if this has been posted before. Fast forward to 3 mins. No IFR. :nono:

I think it is Henning flying the plane. ;)

I've seen this video before and remember thinking who would ever want to shoot that approach??? Talk about needing to be precise. I think the requirements of the approach are fine up until the hard left bank required to line up with the runway. It looks like that's some serious banking really low to the ground. Some seriously good flying required and no margin for error. Hats off to the pilots who fly into that airport often.

Did someone say "Oh ****" at 6:20?

It was the observer/dramatist who had obviously never maneuvered on short final. Okay, so I've never maneuvered a 320 on final either...

That said, the first time I turned final at 100' AGL it was just a little eye opening. But I have done it in a little airplane. Crop dusters do it all the time.

Really? Gentle S turns into a nice runway? Not seeing the drama. :dunno:

I'm with you, not much drama there - until you try it with an airplane that size. My base-to-final turn on my home strip is worse than that, but I'm flying a small agile airplane.

A 319 has a MTOW of around 150,000lbs, a C-130 175,00lbs , I have around 4500 hours in the 130 and wouldn't hesitate to fly that approach. There is nothing on that video that remotely approaches the limits of that airplane's envelope.
