Thankfully not of an aircraft crash this time, but another example of people who talk about things they don't know anything about and still involves aircraft.

Scroll down a bit on the front page and you'll see a photo of northern lights taken from a commercial jet. Look at the picture and read the story - tell me what's wrong...

:dunno: I guess I'm not seeing what you're seeing.

Nice picture from the passenger jet, though.

I guess it's just the engineer part of me that bristles at crap like this, blatantly obvious and there was no attempt at editing.

Looks like the port wing to me.

And now the text has been changed on the story to read "port" instead of the original "starboard" - I guess somebody called them up and informed them of the error.

I can see where your coming from, but as I did, you will learn to let little things like this go. Even pilots here didn't see the issue/error.
I was the same way with motorcycling, as an instrcutor errors like this would send me to the phone, email or letter to editor.
Thank goodness I chilled.

Go fly! Lol

- - - and "chilled" before not proofing your text prior to publishing wasn't good, displaying wrong choice of word; spelling, and lack of proper punctuation.

As you age and gain wisdom: you'll find this doesn't improve much (trying to be positive). Sat in a long meeting yesterday with a fella selling a piece of real estate. Youngest fella in the room. Did almost all the talking and knew the least about how things worked. Three other highly experienced folks in the room weren't allowed to say much. Too bad, he could have learned a LOT about issues facing the development of his property, but, no, more important for him to continuously demonstrate how little he knew and how unwilling he was to learn.

Go to a city council meeting sometime and listen to the folks that have signed up to speak; then, be glad you have a good education and don't have to attend often. Folks used to be embarrassed saying stupid stuff in public; doesn't seem to hold them back at all now.

Sorry, meeting yesterday is still fresh in my mind.

Best,

Dave
