Thank goodness he and his son did not have a fire. Appeared to land on 18.

Lost control on xwind landing, icy runway? Lucky slide between to tanks and tank controls. Walked away from a totaled aircraft. 709 ride in his future?

Fail. 4-knot crosswind component and he blames crosswind?

On an icy runway with a crosswind, you simply land in a crab, and as always, fly the plane all the way to the chocks.

A sad end for a nice plane.

Typical Mooney incident when landing too fast. To overcome the floating effect, specially during crosswinds I raise the flaps completely just before touch down. This assures a firm grip to the runway thus good controllabilty on the ground.

Electric flaps, I presume?

I pop the speed brakes out on touchdown. Kills a lot more lift than you'd think.
