Mogas Presentation

This showed up in my feed today. Couple of years old, but really interesting presentation on Mogas - specifically a good explanation of the risk factors for vapor lock. Clarified some misunderstanding on my part. I knew the risk factors were higher in the summer, and knew that it was in part due to the transition between winter/summer blend, but thought that it was the summer blend that was the problem. Not the case. It’s the risk of running winter blend in higher heat/pressure circumstances.
Worth a listen if you run Mogas.

It is real. Running winter blend as the spring and summer commence/temps rise will get your attention, hopefully while still on the ground! I’m very careful to start running a mix of 100LL and mogas as the seasons change from winter. The sudden loss of power is stunning if you’ve never experienced it. Luckily I figured it out on the ground.
