Mississippi River Valley Fall + Clouds

The plan was to fly down to Lacrosse (KLSE) and check out the fall colors along the river. They were forecast IFR until 1030am so I planned my arrival an hour later. Nope. From above it looked like a glacier named LIFR took over the Mississippi :). The scenery did not disappoint. Winona (KONA) and Lacrosse (KLSE) sit at about 600msl and are under about 800ft of fog in the first picture.

Very beautiful view! I would like to see this not only in the photo.
 
Its always nice down that way. I think between Red Wing and to Lacrosse and beyond is awesome scenery where the big Mississippi starts out. These past few summers there has been a lot of rain so its really green too. People in the flat lands don't normally get to look out the back window and have clouds below them..but that was happening that day. But I'll take the view from above any day :) I didn't plan it that way, just worked out.
