Miramar planespotting.. L29s?

Saw at least three jets, appeared to be L29s leaving Miramar.
This is unusual to see out of Miramar outside of an airshow, is there anything similar in appearance to L29s or is there some private company that does contract work?
 
Draken & ATAC have some camo L-39s that are contracted to the military for aggressor training. Haven't seen anything on L-29s.

It had the straight wing, but I couldn't tell if it had a T-tail or not. That could be then. The only straight wings I've seen are A-10s occasionally and this was definitely not that. They seemed to be a light grey color. I've seen F-5 agrressors lately too so maybe some kind of training thing is going on then.
