microtia

I have been ask to mentor a young man that suffers from microtia,
is this medically disqualifying? I have a feeling it should be. times when
you NEED to descend at 1500+ ft/min, might prove painful.

It all depends on how he hears, and how the affected side(s)' canals are- patent or not....

He says he has <50% hearing in one ear and 100 % in the other. the microtia is unilateral, with the "hole"
partially or all most completly covered.
