Meet the Fokkers
Hadn't heard of them before. Looks like exp. only...for now.
Anybody seen them installed anywhere?

I've had a Microair 760VHF comm in my airplane since 2004. It's held up fine over the years but service is nigh on impossible in the US and if it dies I'll likely replace it with a Trig or something else with a similar form factor.

I *had* a T2000 transponder from them in 2004 as well, but after flying off my phase I mostly underneath a class B and within the mode C veil I found a service bulletin that said the transponder would <poop> itself after a certain number of mode S interrogations. Despite having my contact info the company neglected to provide me or even notify me of the service bulletin and I did not find out about the issue and the bulletin until after the warranty had expired and the reduced-cost corrective action period of the bulletin had passed. As a result I had to pay full market rate to fix a problem the box was delivered with. I now have a different make transponder and an expensive doorstop.

Repeat of an old story: A while back I was considering a second radio and checked eBay for a matching 760VHF. I found a listing for one in France, which included the following disclaimer (translated from the original French): ""For collection only, this device is obsolete and famous in the aeronautical world for its questionable reliability!"

So yeah, I've heard of them and seen a few installed. I lock my canopy on the road so that someone doesn't break in and leave more.

Nauga,
taking a deeeeep cleansing breath
