Anyone have any leads about MEP planes available for rent for a 10-day mission around the Caribbean?
South East location would be ideal. Seneca or similar capacity would be preferred.
2 pilots, other is CPL ME/IR, other is 200hr PP.

All hints truly appreciated.

What does MEP mean?

I assume from the Seneca reference you meant MEL, not MEP. But regardless, FBO's generally tend to be leery of out-of-the country rentals for reasons ranging from insurance to theft to smuggling. Hope you can find one who allows it.

Yep, Multi-Engine Piston. I sometimes confuse EASA and FAA terminology :)

Ron, just like you say, finding one doesn't seem to be easy. There are plenty of single engine'd planes around that are available for out-of-country rentals, but finding a multi is challenging. We've found a Duchess, but would like a bit more space and capacity.

Maybe try some of the florida hour building companies?

Statistics:

18 sent emails, 3 replies, 4 "undeliverable" mailboxes. Business is clearly going good for these companies, because they don't even have to reply to people wanting to spend 7000-8000USD with them :)

For something like this you are better off picking up the phone and calling. They probably get dozens of messages that look like yours everyday and sorting out the spam from the real ones isn't worth the effort.

I don't know its big enough but Superior Flight school at KRYY has a Twin Comanche that they can rent out. Its new there so I don't know if it can be taken to Bahamas but you can ask, 770-422-7465.

Good luck.

Very true. I was hoping to find a strong lead here or somewhere and then follow that up by phone.

If I ran a plane rental company and found out my employee decided which queries are worth a reply and which not, he would be sacked immediately.

Thanks for the tip! I'll do some reading about Twin Comanches to see if it gives us enough added mission capability for this trip over the Duchess, which is considerably cheaper.

It's kind of a long distance call from Korea, and in the middle of the night, too. Skype might be a useful tool, however. I'm guessing you may be US military, too, and you might want to see if that provides any leverage when you speak to them. In any event, good luck and good hunting.

From ROK it isn't the middle of the night, you call late evening and it's early morning east coast.

Ron, not US Military, wife got transferred here for work and I tagged along.

Time difference for calls is not a problem, but "cold calling" 30 places would get old real quick.

So far we've been able to arrange all of our trips over emails, We are doing this mid-July, so we have plenty of time.
