Medical status in medxpress vs. airman registry

Hi,

I've been waiting on SSRI SI 1st class for a little over 6mo since submission. Last month I got a letter stating that my file was being moved to the Federal Air Surgeon's psychiatry specialist for consultation. About a week later my status in Medxpress changed to "final review". It's been like that about 2 weeks now, and I checked the airman registry which lists my medical status as having a first class medical, however no other information that would indicate an SI or anything like that. my physical exam is also over a year old now.

what should I make of this? I don't want to get my hopes up too much...

Thanks!

Does it say "NOT USABLE FOR ANY CLASS AFTER 6/25" or "FOR MORE INFORMATION CALL NNN-NNN-NNNN" ?

Those are the usual signs of a special issuance.

That is how my HIMS SI played out. I called the service assisting me (Pilot Medical Solutions) and my case worker confirmed it was issued and obtained an encrypted copy of the certificate as well as the SI letter. I still have not received a mailed copy of the SI letter over 6 months later, Medexpress updated about 4 months after issued. If I did not have someone with an inside contact I may have been waiting to solo months after I was actually issued. You have to love bureaucracies.

even with no SI information "not usable for any class past xx/xx/xx" sort of thing on the airman registry?

I also wanted to ask…

my HIMS psychiatrist report is over a year old by now. My AME hasn’t brought anything up about it but I have seen him recently. I’ve also submitted current treating psychiatrist reports but that’s it.

should I be worried about this?

It had the “not valid after xx/xx/xxxx” on the registry. Six months from the exam/ approximately 3 months after notification.

Simples: you defintely should go for a second, First Class deferral @ 1 year so they won't be writing saying, "further consideration is not possible as your underlying exam has expired;

We have gotten communication from Washington to "encourage your pilots to submit the annual HIMS psychiatrist eval. so that when we get to his file, we will have current data upon which to act" (Man, NOTHING is cheap).

(NB if it's an SSRI application that might be your private psychiatrist).

Hi, thanks for the reply. So to clarify:

I have submitted update notes/summaries from my own psychiatrist who prescribes me the SSRI dating up to March 2024. These records are enough for the FAA and I don’t need to see the separate HIMS psychiatrist again while under review, even for 1st class?

Thanks
