Medical Exam Fees (Small Town)

My first medical was a 1st class/student pilot cert. and was $75. Procrastinated and needed to renew it ASAP, everyone I called couldn't fit me in for months. Found one that would do walk-ins and it was $200 for a 2nd class! No wonder they could take walk-ins...
 
is there a huge difference b/t a 3rd and 2nd class medical? I thought it was just frequency.
 
Vision requirements are different (call me Bat)
 
Don't know, insurance covered it as preventative care.

Interesting... I tried that several times over the last 30 years and got shot down.......

Maybe Obamacare covers it now.... If so.... Yippee..
