I saw that Cessna is a sponsor of the McDonald's monopoly game. The big prize is a vacation in a Cessna Jet, but they're also giving out 2 hour discovery flights as an instant win prize (I assume these are in a single engine piston and not the jet).

Maybe this is the way to revitalize GA? Move the marketing for prospective new pilots from the airport to the McDonalds?

Can their average customer fit in a 172? Average income of their customers?

How many of you have every had a Big Mac as your $100 hamburger?

I made a stop at an airport in upstate NY.there was a McDonalnds across the street at the end of the runway, had breakfast. Was a quick turn around, they fueled plane,in the time it took to have an egg mc muffin.

That's what surprised me -- I can't remember another national marketing campaign for a GA company with such a broad target audience. I was a little surprised to see Cessna spending it's marketing dollars through McD's.

I don't think it's bad -- maybe that's what needs to happen to give GA a boost.

Wouldn't it be awesome to walk into a casino and see a airplane as the prize in the middle of the slot machines? Or as the prize behind door #2 in a game show?

Yeah that'd be cool. I really wonder what the average income is, and how fat the tails are. Must be higher then I'd guess for Cessna to take a bite. Suppose everyone eats at McDonalds at some point in their lives...
Whose going to photoshop up the clown flying a 172 with "I'm loving it" joke bubble?
And do the Hamburglars fly helicopters or jetpacks? Powered parachutes perhaps?

Well, there's only 10 discovery flight prizes, so I'm guessing no on the revitalization.

(xvii) Cessna Discovery Flight. Ten (10) prizes are available in the Territory. Each winner will receive a sightseeing flight for up to two (2) hours for winner only, plus transportation between winner’s home and airfield (Guam and Saipan winners will receive a check for $400 in lieu of the prize), ARV: $400. The approximate odds of winning a prize are 1 in 65,184,163.

I didn't realize it was only 10 prizes. 1 in 65 million chance to win $400, wow, not to generous. I was only kidding about it revitalizing GA -- it was more poking fun at Cessna's strategy advertising through McDs.

I believe one of the prizes is also a "date" with Hope Solo during which they will fly you to and from in a "Cessna Jet".

Didn't Cessna sponsor a Cup car in NASCAR this year or last? Thought I saw one, and I don't catch many races.
