A pizza with a radius of "z" and a thickness of "a" has a volume of:

Volume = Pi * z * z * a :rofl: :rofl: :goofy: ;)

Is that thickness uniform or is that the thickness at the crust with the rest of the pie actually shorter than a?

For if that were the case you would have

Volume = Pi*z2*a - Pi*(z2)2*a2

Which would simplify as:

Volume= Pi*z*z*a - Pi*z2*z2*a2

or more simply written

Volume = Pi*z*z*a - [Pi*z*z*a]2

Little Ceaser would be proud ;);)

When I was in college, I figured out that the reason I couldn't finish an entire "large" pizza in one sitting, while being able to polish off a "medium" with help from a beer or two, was that while a large was only 1.6x larger in diameter (10" vs. 16"), it had about twice the surface area.

Pizza math is better than AK-47 and grenade math from the '80s in Sandinista-ruled Nicaragua:

My middle schoolers LOVED that one!!
I bet they remember it too...:rolleyes:

I know I still remember the story about the Indian Princess named Sohcahtoa. (sine = opposite over hypotenuse; cosine = adjacent over hypotenuse and tangent = opposite over adjacent)

Now that brings back old memories :yes:

i never liked sohcahtoa. i liked "Old Harry Always Has Old Apples"

Anyone remember what this one was for?
Bad Boys Rape Our Young Girls But Violet Gives Willingly with Gold and Silver

Was it for reading resistor color bands? Dang, I remember the statement but I'm not sure I remember where to use it :dunno:

Blue Blue, Red Orange, Yellow green, Blue Violet, Green White, Gold Silver.

I'll bet it refers to wiring of some sort, but I've never heard it.

I have, however, used quite often "Bumblebee, Christmas Tree" for phone wiring.

I learned using the 1st color in the first word, that way you knew which B was brown. Can't remember the tolerances, gold 5%, and silver 10%, or was it 10 and 15?

Jeez. What kind of school youse guys went to? In my Chicago Public HS it was "Better Be Right Or Your Great Big Venture Goes West"

It brings back memories of being a young teen in a basic electronics class with several older men, all there to become ham radio operators. I had such wonderfully influential folks! :D

I remember one about Batman and Robin, but this is a family board and I WILL NOT repeat it here. Working for the Navy was such a bad influence on me. :D
