Marines stop all flying for 24 hours.

Yep, did it a couple of times in 90s when we had a rash of accidents. Primarily Harriers. Take off work, go to the theater and get lectures on how to improve safety across the board.

A Marine Aviator told me once, " There're two kinds of Harrier Pilots, those who have ejected and those who will."

Always a good strategy when you're out of spare parts, stand down and talk about safety:rolleyes:.

Cheers

Stand downs are pretty common when there is a root cause traceable to procedural or culture induced errors.

What is interesting about this is that after the KC-130 crash, they grounded ALL USMC C-130s (including Fat Albert) which would indicate there is a type related material issue that would be completely unrelated to the MV-22 issue.
