I always wrote my own FITREP to submit to my boss.
I hated that. WTF is their job if I'm doing it for them? And then you give him a decent fit rep and they tear the **** out of it.

Best way to learn how to write em. Your boss was doing you a favor. No one likes writing those damn things. But, you won't likely get any kind of leadership position unless you can learn to promote your subordinates.
