Mall Shooting In Portland, OR

Shooter took himself out before killing at least 3.

Just a few miles from here -- the biggest mall in the area.

Prayers for all the victims ... counting emotional scars there will be hundreds.

Glad the perp is off the planet.
 
It'll be interesting to see where this new defective-brained person came from, and how many people knew he was defective and did nothing... which is basically what we've been learning about our Colorado shooter in court. He tried to kill himself in jail, as well.
 
It is a pity these murder suicides don't take out the victims in reverse order.
 
Shooter stole an AR from a friend.

Weapon jammed and he didn't know how to clear it, giving people a chance to run for cover.

Explains the number of rounds fired vs number of people hit. He was clueless, thankfully.
 
I was on business in Portland the last few days (Beaverton specifically). At some point my relatives who all knew I was out there started calling to make sure I was alright, as they knew I was going to head out somewhere to buy a Portland-themed gift for my son.

Fortunately that mall was on the opposite side of the city as I, but it's crazy how the world works some times.

And yeah Nate -- as I always say you give the wrong person a spork and we'll see an uproar against sporks, then wait to see what hobby the person had and how it gets twisted into "______ causes people to be violent."

- Not a handgun but a rifle
- Not purchased but stolen
 
It's all the fault of laws that allow people to own handguns.

Even though it was a stolen rifle, tossing out the tried and true, "legal guns are the problem," argument.

If ONLY people were not allowed to own handguns, this type of thing would never happen. bob costas said so.

and spoons really do make you fat.

and, of course, microphones make announcers stupid.

Fortunately I live near Chicago, one of the last places to have gun control. We have almost zero guncrime and record low homicide rates per capita! :goofy:

Having personally witnessed the aftermath of a fatal gun shot wound to the head of a lady who wouldn't give up her $20 from a Chicago ATM machine...
 
Wait, no!!! This whole thing is obviously fake and a government set-up, just like Aurora. I mean, it was a gun free zone. That means there is magical force-field that stops any guns from entering, right?
