Don't understand why, but I have zero interest in paragliding. Hang gliding, on the other hand...

I'm hesitant to do things where my body is the primary energy absorber in the event of an impact. I know someone who got seriously messed up from an errant gust/windshear when landing a paraglider but, man, that looks like so much fun.

Going through life with a permanently attached airbag would be boring. No guts, no glory.
Looks nice, too expensive.
Every single one of the paragliders I have known over the years at one point or another spent 50-100k on uncovered medical expenses for major orthopedic work. Mostly lower extremity injuries up to about pelvis fractures.
