Discovered i left my mag switch turned on over night. Is this bad?

Won't hurt a thing on the mag. Safety concern is that means the engine could technically start if hand cranked, but the mixture would have to be perfect.

It's a bad habit to get into (forgetting things)

I was supposed to remember something, but I forget what.

I have only been wrong once. Once when I thought I was!!! Turned out I was wrong.

Agreed......

Learn from this mistake Gazoo ...

There is no check list for my plane. Hell the poh is only 10 pages. Lol. I made a check list for it but it was taken out or misplaced (friend flew plane last). I took a quick ride last night and thot i did everything. On the way to work this morning it popped in my head...did i turn the mags off?... I went to hanger real quick, sure enough. No

Nobody's fault but my own, there will b a replacement list in it today!! Just wanted to make sure i didnt really mess anything up or burn out the mags some how

With the engine not turning (You did remember to stop it before you left, right?) there is no current being induced in the mags. It acts just like an inert lump of magnets and copper wire sitting there doing nothing - so there is nothing to "burn out".

This is where it pays to have a fundamental understanding of how your systems really work.

I leave it running till it runs outta gas. Still havn't found the ignition switch i can figure out how to turn it off:rolleyes:

Perfect to start, but even an imperfect mix can still go bang sufficiently to cause serious injury, property damage or death.
