Needed to get the MAC address for the laptop and started looking thru the System Profiler, I clicked on Software->Applications and discovered (shudder) a whole boatload of copies of "GoogleVoiceAndVideoUninstaller.app" and "GoogleTalkPlugin.app"
One of each is in the Library, which I expect. But the other 30 or so are in /private/tmp/*
Every one of these is taking up memory in a directory. What on earth are they, why so many, and which ones can I get rid of? Every one of the Uninstaller apps takes up 17172 blocks (1 kilobyte block or 1.7 GB block) and there are over 20 of these suckers! No wonder running Google Hangout is such a dog.
Looks like every version of every application is still somewhere in the system, taking up disk space. Absurd.
