I have a stupid question for all of you computer savvy people out there. I have a Mac G-5 and have been trying to save info to rewritable CDs on it. I can burn a CD once, but after that, it will not let me modify the disk. Is there a setting/button/menu that I have to modify to allow me to use the disc multiple times? Using a different disc every day is getting to be unwieldy.

Good question. With Windows software like Nero you just don't "finalize" the CD. Here's how to find out:

Not quite it, but... http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61300

If you

  1. Create a burn folder. New->Burn Folder.
  2. Copy files to the burn folder (It actually only copies pointers to the files.)
  3. Burn that Burn Folder to CD-RW.
  4. Store that CD.
  5. Add to, delete or update files in the burn folder.
  6. Erase an older CD-RW as above
  7. Repeat at step 3.

You should rotate at least two disks so you don't risk losing what you had burned before.

Thank you. I'm such a computer idiot that I didn't realize I had to erase the disk first. I had thought that I could just add to it. Your method worked.

thanks,
Taylor
