I am thinking of buying a Luscombe 8A (LSA) and basing it at KLOM. Would be interested in forming a club. Will help with check out and training, I am CFI. Aircraft not yet identified, but getting close. PM me if you think you might be interested. With 4 or 5 folks it will be very cheap flying.

Have you checked on insurance yet? What did they say? I'm thinking that insurers might be somewhat allergic to insuring a rare old taildragger flown by multiple pilots for training purposes.

I am in a four person 'club' with a J-3.

From our experience, about 1400 per year, everyone needs an endorsement and 10hrs dual in the plane (unless they have a lot of prior TW experience). Of note, they didn't want to put more than four pilots on the policy because then it turns into a 'club' and not a 'partnership'

Hi Ron, I received a quote of $800 for me alone. If there is enough interest in the club then I will look at those costs. Even at twice that amount if there are four people my cost goes down 50%.

Thanks for the info. That is consistent with what I thought it might be. Fortunately Luscombes are not as overpriced as cubs seem to be so I might see some marginal benefit from a possibly lower hull value. Don't get me wrong I love cubs, even owned a PA-12 for a bit. The problem with cubs is everyone else loves them too.
