Pretty darn kool.... Moon is blood red and Mars is red too.... Perfect viewing from the "Hole"... Crystal clear and 26f...

Life is GOOD !!!

It's pretty awesome looking. I took some crappy pictures on my phone, but it certainly doesn't do any justice. Glad I stayed up!

I've got the Celestron set up but it's better with the eye. Mars looks awesome too.

Tops FL250, RASN.

So there was no viewing it here.

I'll just have to take somebody's word for it. I was getting my nighty night on.

From what I heard on the news this morning, locally it was a disappointment though.

Didn't appear that red here. More like "dark, but with a slightly reddish shadow."

I was disappointed.

Looked pretty cool. I took some pictures last night, but the sky was a little hazy, so they have a diffused look. That and the damn planet kept moving!!

Clouded-out here in the East. Disappointed!

The eclipse was great here in Colorado!
I went up to about 7,500 feet in the foothills near where I live. Stayed there from 10pm until 3:30am, then headed home.
It was totally worth it!
Eclipse photography demands better equipment (and probably skill) than I have. But, here's a photo... (Corrected 4/16 5:38 pm for correct labeling of celestial bodies - thanks, 3393RP!)

I really enjoyed watching. Mars, the star Spica, and Saturn were all close by. It was quite a show.

Follow the Arc of the Big Dipper to Arcturus, continue on until you spy Spica...

Is that Saturn in the upper left?

I don't have my planetarium s/w on this PC, so I can't run the simulator for that night.

That's not Mars in your photo, it's Spica. Spica was below the azimuth of the Moon. Mars was about ten degrees above the Moon and further to the west.

Oops. Thanks for the correction!
So, the smaller light diagonally up to the left - is that Mars?
Corrected photo attached...

Nope... Mars would be about two moons with up and to the right.. Way out of your pictuce..... It was VERY bright too... And tinted red..

I'd show you my photo but it looks like a picture of a one year old baby's birthday cake in a dark room. :D

The other spot in your photo is another star. Dunno the name of it. Saturn was visible too, on a bit lower azimuth and about 20 degrees further east.
