Joking aside, iPod ear buds make pretty good headsets for flying. I've got a set on my spare flying helmet...you can see them dangling right below the patch.
Attenuation is almost as good as I get with my Flightcom ANLs. All it takes is about $5 in Radio Shack parts, though you'll pay more for the microphone.
