Lousy weather for a fly in

and yet people still are coming to the AOPA fly-in in Beaufort. Maybe 100-150 planes yesterday and still some morning arrivals despite the thunderstorm at 5am this morning.

Met Amelia yesterday, now I Have To come to Edenton in Sept. Mike from Detroit, Toni, Mark and Mike from AOPA - great folks.

I was down at the Morehead City waterfront and saw two plane come in on final. I was kindof surprised given the weather. Yup, crappy weather. I hade to cancel my trip to Warbirds on the Beach.

Probably wise. They did done flying yesterday, but I suspect today will be S wash. And the runway is looking iffy on Sunday.

Epix at CPK is hosting the ME-262 for the weekend due to the runway closure at Suffolk.

Here it is in the hangar next to my Beech.

It is lousy WX for a flyin. Worse for camping at it, but so far I've had fun and met a bunch of great people. Too bad Beaufort got hosed by the weather gods.

This was the radar at 8am. VFR all over the field but you needed IFR to get through to it.

Major thunderstorm at 5:30 am. I felt sorry for the campers. For just a second.

Unfortunately, it isn't my hangar. I'm just a tenant. It's the Ruffin hangar at CPK which is home to Epix Aviation.
