This was my first trip to OSH. No way is two days long enough see everything. Will just have to go back next year.
First trip through Chicago, OH MY, How do you do that every day Bruce?
First time to meet Greg and his family, had a great time with them.
First time to meet Diana. WOW what a LADY. She meet me with a big hug. Let me camp under her other wing, fixed me coffee every morning. She made my trip the best, and I can`t thank her enough.

Thanks Diana for a great time!!! :princess:

Linda, thank YOU for keeping me company and making my time at Oshkosh more enjoyable. It was great to finally get to meet you.

I'm glad you enjoyed OSH (and didn't get too wet...those tarps over the wing certainly make a difference). :)

Missed you guys. Sue and I did a "quick in and Quick out" on Saturday via Fondulac and the Shuttle Bus. Drank most of the water out of the Camelback in the first 4 hours. HOT HOT HOT.

Chicago center was actually pretty accomodating on the way out. We couldn't get an IFR departure reservation, departed VFR, climbed to 16.5K and asked- and they granted ("Oh, we are not worthy!") despite the NOTAM saying they would NOT do so prior to Madison. But, Center is usually pretty helpful. Approach (closer in) is more problemmatic.

OSH is an experience. It is General Aviation's Grand Bazaar, and it only happens once per year....

I'm glad you had a chance to get there, even if for only a short time.:)

I took off from OSH about 8:00 a.m. yesterday, right before the storm hit. After I took off the winds shifted and they were offering the taildraggers options as the winds shifted to a 20+ KT gusting quartering tailwind. I skirted the storm on the way out. A very HOT flight home, but much easier than the 3 day flight up. Looks like they are getting pounded with storms this morning...a good thing I decided not to wait till today to head home.
