Louisiana Delta Community College Adding Helicopter Training to Agriculture Aviation Program

Flying Tigers Aviation Rotary Flight Training Director Mike Felcher says,"This program is the best jump start you could get into flying in agriculture. Flying a helicopter is addictive from the very first flight."

Louisiana is home to a large farming industry and the college believes these classes can help boost employment in that area.

"These are really good jobs. Those who are certified in rotary blade can expect a starting salary of $50, 000 to $70,000 dollars, so you may have to put a little investment into it on the front end, but the pay off if you really love it is worth it."

If only that ad had a list of employers who were hiring and their requirements.

Flying tigers eh? Didn't know they were doing rotor wing stuff now.

Check out AG-Flight, probably the oldest AG school in the US, it is fixed wing, but most all of the 0-CPL guys who go their end up flying AG right after they graduate, their ain't flying 802s or anything, but Pawnees and the like, cutting their teeth in the industry.

You'll get AG training and build all your hours up in a tailwheel, dual light bar work in a PA18, solo lightbar and spraying (H2O) in a Pawnee, plus some dual AG Cat time.

Makes a whole ton more sense than going to ATP Inc or ERU to try to become a 121 guy.
