After moving to San Diego and joining a large flying club Plus One Flyers I found no social activities involved with that place. So I am looking to meet fellow pilots for hangar flying bbq and going places. When I lived in Sacramento, I had a few pilot friends to do stuff with.

Scott, move to Chicago and I could introduce you to a bunch of people. I'm afraid I don;t know many folks in SD.

Thanks guys sounds great. I am saving for a hangar home but unfortunately few of these exist. It would be fun to throw airport hangar parties someday. There are a few hangars for sale at KSEE with living quarters but they are a lease not really a purchase.

EAA 14 at Brown is a good group. Great lunch every Saturday, Young Eagles (2nd Sat I think) and an organized fly-out once per month (3rd Sat usually).

Friday Fly Days every 1st Friday at Gillespie Field Cafe, usually many planes and some hot rods.

The YakCave is at Gillespie as well.

For Hangar Homes check out Speer Field at Gillespie, not conventional homes so mortgage will be tough (county land on a 30 yr lease, first period is up in about 10 or 15 years I think and they are not sure how County will go).

SoCal is a great environment for pilots.

Catalina Airport BBQ this Saturday at 5:00 I think.

Warbirds West Air Museum Pancake Breakfast every Saturday and Movie Night in the hangar every Tuesday at Gillespie.

MCAS Miramar Airshow is coming up first weekend in October, best in the West.

IAC Chapter 36 San Diego Hammerheads have their Fall Aerobatic Contest at Borrego (L08) in October as well.

Which airport do you fly out of? I'm at CRQ and as shown above I've posted get togethers a few times on here. Seems like I get a lot more of a response from the Mooneyspace folks than I do here for some reason, but it probably would be good to start up another thread.

Been wanting to do an overnight campout to Oceano. Anyone game?

There's a chance I may be moving back out that way. I'd be down
