Looking for cost for a new Archer shimmy dampener

My mechanic has discovered that my Archer's shimmy dampener is broken beyond repair.

As he's researching a replacement (and I'm told it won't be cheap), I thought I'd inquire from the people here what I might be looking at for a cost to replace. Are these Piper parts or are there 3rd parties that carry them?

Search ebay for one . They can sometimes be found new for a fraction on the normal cost. I bought a new Cleveland unit for my Cherokee from ebay a couple of years ago for $135.00. They retail for something like $700.00. I am not sure but I think it may be the same one that fits your bird. Good luck.

Or mabe a used unit? These folks are good to deal with, and reasonable too.
