Hello PoA community. I am in search of a really good pilot who wants to learn acro, or already knows it, that would help me in my quest of getting my airshow friend back to flying. By deductive reasoning you could guess who my friend is. I don't want to explicitly say out of respect. However, if you are ballsy and want to fly a Yak 55 let me know. Serious inquiries only.

Whoopsies, I guess this is considered solicitation or advertisements. Delete if not allowed, Mods.

A location would help a lot.

Yak 55 and acro intrigues me (I've done some basic in a super D but not much), but your post just leads to more questions. How is this really good (define "really good?") pilot getting an airshow friend back to flying, where, timing/logistics, costs, etc.?

You don't have to be that good, Yak 55 was designed for pilots to jump in cold and fly with no previous TW experience. :D ...it's true actually.

Atlanta, Georgia is the location.

That is something you would discuss with him. He is a veteran in the airshow world and can get that stuff easily worked out. He really misses it. Just needs a partner.

I mean, you have to impress other airshow pilots...

Partner, as in, financial partner in owning a plane?

OK so for the clarity of anyone reading, you're scouting for someone to become his 2-ship formation acro airshow partner in order to restart the act that paused in 2020.

Exactly.

He already fully owns the planes. A parter in an air show team. Doing shows together as a team. There are 2 Yak’s.
Ah, ok that makes sense. Sounds cool and hope it all works out. As much as I’d love one day to get into acro seriously and the air show world, my ~200 “vanilla” hours likely has me quite a bit under qualified.

The deductive reasoning became I lot easier now. Wish him good luck with his endeavour! Sadly not in my part of the woods.

Tell him to go to a few IAC contests. They'll be glad to have him, and he might connect with someone who actually has the considerable skills and experience required to fill such a role. Chapter 3 runs an excellent contest in Lagrange, GA. A bit further away, Florida has several good contests, usually two at Sebring and one at Keystone.

Just so you know, what you are looking for is like advertising on the Internet for an NFL quarterback.
